Water Damage Restoration Mission, BC

The steep hillsides above Mission push water runoff toward homes at the bottom of slopes at a rate that flat drainage systems aren't always built to handle. Homes on downslope lots experience foundation pressure and surface water intrusion that Abbotsford homes on flat ground rarely see. We've handled dozens of water damage jobs in Mission where the primary cause was concentrated roof runoff or overland flow from uphill properties.

Mission's older housing stock — particularly homes built in the 1960s through 1980s — often has below-code drainage, aging cast-iron drain lines susceptible to root intrusion and sewer backup, and basements without proper waterproofing. Sewer backup calls are disproportionately common in Mission because of this older infrastructure.

Newer Mission neighbourhoods built on the flatter areas near the Fraser River have their own set of risks. These areas sit at low elevation relative to the river and have experienced groundwater table rises during significant flood years. Sump pump dependency is high in these areas and pump failure events require immediate response.
